Anne died peacefully in her home on January 24, 2024, attended by family and caregivers.
Dear mother of Leslie, Michelle and Ainslie, proud grandmother of Evan and Harrison, and sister to May. Predeceased by her late husband Bill, and brothers Michael and Frank.
Anne hailed from the small town of Haddington, Scotland and emigrated to Canada in 1952. Proudly Scottish/Canadian, Anne loved gardening, dance, tennis, golf, cottaging, travel, long walks, and, always, get-togethers with family and friends. She enjoyed a successful career in accounting and remained independent, resilient, curious, and outspoken throughout her long life.
The family is grateful for the kind and compassionate support Anne received from the dedicated caregivers at Royalty Care and St. Elizabeth Health Care, and from the palliative unit of Simcoe Home & Community Care Support Services.
A Celebration of Life will occur on May 31, 2024, at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, Ontario; followed by interment at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Barrie.
If desired, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or CNIB and are greatly appreciated by the family.
