Passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on Friday, March 6th, 2026 at Hospice Simcoe at the age of 74 years. Loving husband of Jan Niemeyer. Cherished mother of Patrick, Barry (Christina), and Sheila (David). Proud grandmother of Eric, Jessica, Rebecca, Alexis, Matthew, Samantha, and great-grandmother of Meric and Ryker. Barbara was a dedicated Personal Support Worker for 45 years, spending her career caring for residents in a nursing home. She took great pride in her work and in the compassion she showed to those she cared for.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed many creative hobbies including pottery, crocheting, and ceramics. During the summer months, she could often be found tending to her garden beds, a place where she found great joy and peace.
Barbara will be sadly missed by many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
