Betty Faye Smith (Mills) of Barrie Ontario, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022 at RVH hospital in Barrie. She was 78.

Betty is the beloved wife of 55 years to Jack Smith. The two met through mutual friends at Alcona beach and after some convincing from Jack and the promise to sell all his motorcycles they began dating, falling in love and marrying at  Collier Street United Church on July 22, 1967. She was the devoted mother to Wendy Gibson (Smith) and son in law David Gibson.

Betty was the proud Grandmother of Kaitlin, Jack, Matthew and his wife Jessica. She was the youngest sibling to Teddy, Carol, and John. She is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and childhood friends.

Betty was Born on May 18, 1944 in Barrie Ontario she attended local schools and was a hard worker at General Electric from the time she was 18 to the closing of the plant. She was a women of many talents and had a love for music which was expressed through her talented piano playing and impressive dance moves. She was an excellent cook and was known for her Christmas baking and famous pancake recipe.  

Betty dedicated her life to her family and some of her favourite memories were made during summer trips to Niagara Falls and family celebrations. She also had many fond memories of various trips with Jack such as cruises and a trip to Hawaii.

Betty was resilient, kind and had a servants heart. She had a love for the colour red, small dogs and Elvis Presley. She was always looking for ways to help or make people laugh. Although she will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all lives she touched she is now happily reunited with past family members.
