"Gone Too Soon"

Bonnie Ann Simms (previously Murree, nee Parr aka "Wonder Woman") in her 71st year, peacefully, and with continued tenacity, on her terms, right to her next transition. Surrounded by angels, her grandchildren, loved ones and very last breath held in love and shared with her daughter.

Proud mom to Shannon Pearl Murree, extremely proud grandmother to Jonathan, Brianna and Edward Murree. Wife of Peter Simms, best friend /co-parent partner to Marvin Murree. Beloved sister to William Parr, Angel Parr and Edward Parr, Jr. Predeceased by parents Edward George Parr & Dorothy Pearl Parr. Loved by several nieces, nephews, niblings, cousins and family those still considered sister in-law. Will be missed by Kitty Lucy and Panda Bear.  Beloved "Mama B" to many and avid supporter of women equality and "Hockey family" Barrie Jr Sharks.

Inspiration to many in her global work of being "wonder woman" and changing the game play to be on her terms. She always said, "she may have had cancer, but it never had her".

Many thanks to the RVH oncology team, Dr V & palliative care team. Special thanks to the incredible Hospice Simcoe Family of staff & volunteers for giving the most comfort, care, dignity, encouragement, support & entertainment during the last life transition.

And lastly, most gratitude to her "fans" on social media following the incredible journey and the outpouring of love, encouragement & support.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, September 16th, 2022 from 11:30 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 1 pm. Interment to take place immediately following the Service at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Reception to follow inside the lower lounge of the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, as her cat was a rescue, donations may be made in her honour to Streetcats Rescue Shelter in Barrie and/or Hospice Simcoe would be greatly appreciated.
