It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Brenda Barbara Lade (nee Cox) on April 12th, 2025, at the at the age of 86 years. Brenda is reunited with her husband Philip. She is survived by her dear sister Angela (Mike). Cherished mother of Patricia, Andrew, Melissa, Stephen (Megan), Suzy (Terry) and Gerard. Proud grandmother of Acacia, Brady, Kourtnie, Kaitlyn (Drew), Elizabeth, Charles, Dustyn, Liam, Owen, Evie, Riannagh, Recherche (Jocelyn), Matthew, Toby (Shayna) and great Grandmother of Carter, Hanna, Emma, Ava, Sophia, Hayden, Colten, Zyden, Payten, Ryleigh, and Gally., and many nieces and nephews in England. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Barbara, and her brother Robin.
Born in England, she studied nursing and moved to the US with her best friend Julie in 1964, then up to Canada in 1965, where she continued her career. She will be missed by her former colleagues from her days at Leisureworld Nursing home. Quite often she could be found knitting and crocheting for her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her time in the Red Hat society, making more friends. She had a passion for figure skating and enjoyed watching the Olympics. A big thank you to the staff at RVH especially the ICU and Surgery 2 for their dedication and compassion during her care.
A visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street., Barrie, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 12-1 pm. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 1 pm.
