Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15th, 2025 at the Woods Park Long Term Care at the age of 73. Beloved son of the late Robert and Frances (Leushner) Mercer. Loving nephew of Shirley Mercer and the late Delbert (Jeanette) Leushner. Dear cousin of the late Marilyn Kampers (nee Leushner), Henk Kampers, Gregory (late Jeannine) Leushner and the late Shelley Hunter (nee Leushner).
Bryce trained on the pipe organ in Montreal, on a 4- manual Casavant, under Philips Motley and at Christ Church Cathedral, Ottawa under Dr. Godfrey Hewitt. He was an organist at Martin Luther German Church in Ottawa. In Barrie, he assisted James Leonard at Collier Street United Church in the early 1990’s. In later years he assisted at Wycliffe Anglican Church in Elmvale.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Monday, October 20th, 2025 from 10:30 am until the time of service in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment will take place immediately following the service at the Hillcrest Cemetery, 110 William St., Parry Sound. Memorial donations in Bryce’s memory may be made to a charity of choice.
