It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Burnham share the news of her passing peacefully in her sleep on Friday May 12th, 2023, at the age of 85.

Devoted and beloved wife of Robert (Bob) Burnham. Mother of Paul, Cathy (deceased), and Andy (Kim). Grandmother to Trevor (Jennifer), Avery, and Charlie. Sister to Richard Clark (Joan) of Mississauga. Elizabeth was an avid pet-lover, and many pets were a part of the Burnham family including Buddy, Snoopy, Sam, Fluffy, Maggie, and right until her passing, Sweetie.

Elizabeth grew up in Toronto and was a graduate of Earl Haig Secondary School. Elizabeth and Bob met in 1957, fell in love, and were married in 1958. Soon afterwards, they started their family.

Together they raised their family in Downsview and Thornhill and were equal partners in all aspects of their lives. In 1970, Elizabeth started working at York University and was a valued employee until her retirement in 1993.

After retirement, Elizabeth and Bob split their time living at the family cottage at Pointe-Au-Baril, and in their winter home in Bradenton, Florida. They had a full and active life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at both locations. Elizabeth was also an avid reader her entire life.

From 2008 to the present, Elizabeth and Bob decided to spend the rest of their retirement years in Innisfil, Ontario.

Elizabeth truly loved her family. She provided unwavering support and devotion to her husband and children throughout her life. She cherished all her grandchildren and the relationships she had with them. Elizabeth will be forever remembered for her warmth, grace, wonderful sense of humour, and loving nature. She will be deeply mourned and missed by her family and friends.

A private family service will be held for Elizabeth.
