It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Carol Morris (nee Thurrott) in her 65 year.
After a battle with health issues, Carol passed peacefully on August 1, 2023 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie. Carol is survived by her husband John, her mother Jean Thurrott and brother Rob Thurrott. Carol is predeceased by her father Frederick Thurrott.
Carol was born in Trenton in an Airforce family and grew up in Trenton, Greenwood Nova Scotia, Camp Borden and Barrie. After attending school at Barrie North Collegiate, and Seneca College in Toronto, Carol entered her chosen profession of accounting with career stops at Canadian Tire Head Office, The County of Simcoe and Innisfil Hydro.
Carol always enjoyed meeting new people and enjoyed many good times at Woodland Beach and boating the waters of Georgian Bay. Nothing was more important to Carol than friends and family.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at RVH who took such wonderful care of Carol as well as the family during her final days. The presence of faithful friends whose visits meant so much to Carol will be remembered always.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, August 10th, 2023 from 1 PM until the time we celebrate Carol's life in the Chapel at 3 PM. Following the services, guests are invited to remain for a reception gathering in the Lounge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and are greatly appreciated by the family.
