It is with a heavy heart that Mandy and I are saying goodbye to our amazing son who suddenly, but peacefully, passed at his home in Oro-Medonte on Friday, December 9th, 2022. Chase was a beloved son of Mandy (Rob) and Eric (Maureen). Dear brother of Julia (Sam) and step-brother of Maddy. Cherished grandson of Jean Miller (Peter), Jim Miller (Jym), Mireille Rominger (Egon) and predeceased by Heinz Rominger (Diane). Will be missed by his step-aunt Amanda Morgan (Eric) and predeceased by his uncle David Miller. Will be missed by extended family members and many dear friends.

Chase was 18 years old and recently graduated from Eastview Secondary school in Barrie. This September he enrolled in computer programming at Georgian College. Wise beyond his years, he touched many hearts in his short lifetime. While his autism gave him challenges, it also provided strengths and unique gifts; not the least of which were his memory, intellect, and the ability to feel the world, himself and others deeply. He also loved gaming and was quite accomplished in such endeavours. Recently he was very passionate about his streaming channel and building his online community, where he shared both in person as well as online friendships.

Chase loved his family and close friends. He cared deeply about the environment and the future of humanity, loved animals (as long as they didn’t cause too much sensory issues), and got a real sense of peace from being in nature. While not religious, the last few years he became keenly interested in the expansion of consciousness and spiritual growth.

His progress and personal development in the last few years were impressive. He attended his Prom, got his driver’s license, and signaled a growing interest in someday having a girlfriend and a family.

We love him dearly and will miss him deeply.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Sunday, December 18th, 2022 from 12 pm until the time we celebrate his life in the Chapel at 1 pm. Reception to follow inside the lower lounge. In keeping with Chase’s wishes cremation has taken place. Memorial donations may be made to the Autism Ontario, Kids Help Phone, The Ocean Clean Up or Street Cats Rescue and are greatly appreciated by the family.
