Devitt, Dennis Edward
Passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, June 10, 2022 at his home with his wife by his side. Beloved husband of Joanne Devitt (née Cuni) for over 51 years. Loving father of Dan and Rick (Tania). Cherished grandfather of Cassidy, Kirsten, Jake, Aurora, Makenna and Marissa. Brother of Ray (Bonnie), Dianne (Paul Schouten) and Debbie (Rick Ruebusch). Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dennis will be deeply missed by many but never forgotten. Dennis is predeceased by his parents James and Mary (née Ellis) Devitt and sons Jason and Jonathan. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family for a visitation that will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 10am – 11:45am at Steckley – Gooderham Funeral Home – 30 Worsley Street, Barrie being followed with a Church service at St. John Vianney, 12pm (Noon) - 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie. Interment will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery following the service. The Devitt family would like to invite everyone back to the church for a reception after the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, if desired, would be greatly appreciated by his family.
