It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Lynch in his 62nd year, at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie on May 8, 2025. Dennis fought valiantly against his illnesses the last couple of years but sadly his body could take no more.
Predeceased by his father, Everett (2001), his sister Linda (2005), and his grandson Joshua McCormack (2010). Beloved son of Pauline, cherished partner of Barb Cesarin, loving father of Amanda Sturgeon (Chris), Dennis McCormack, Craig McCormack (Sarah), and Adam (Alana), devoted brother of Ted (Meghan), Ken (Goldie), Donna Green (Dave), Terry (Tracy) and Pauline Murgida (Rob). Dennis will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Tyler, Cody, James, Bentley, Marissa, Dylan, Aubree and Clara. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Dennis was born in Toronto and later moved with his family back home to Newfoundland, where he spent his childhood and early teens in Freshwater. He enjoyed all life had to offer in his small town, where he loved playing with his friends and being a mischievous boy. He took great joy in making jokes, getting people laughing and being the life of the party.
Dennis moved back to Toronto in 1980, where he soon obtained his first job with the Toronto Sun piling newspapers on skids. The print media field was his calling and Dennis made a very successful career of it, eventually working his way up to Distribution Manager with Postmedia.
Dennis later moved north of the city and settled in Barrie, where he and Barb loved to host pool parties for family and friends. Dennis was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed. Life just won’t be the same without him.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm, followed by a service. Following the service, please join the family at a reception to be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, from 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm.
