Peacefully passed at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 12th, 2026 at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Vera (née Zuwerkalow) for 54 years.
Loving father of Stacie Rodrigues (late Michael), and Lesya Mattina (John). Cherished grandfather of Alexander, Klaryssa, Matteo, Sandro and the late Giovanni (2011). Dear brother of Debbie (Joe) Baber, and cherished uncle to their daughter Andrea. He will also be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Michael (Annie), and his nephew Paul and niece Katherine.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, April 17th, 2026 from 6-8 pm with Panakhyda occurring at 7 pm. Funeral Service will take place the following day on Saturday, April 18th, 2026 inside the Chapel at 3:30 pm. Guests are invited to remain for a reception following the service inside the lower lounge. Interment will take place at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie on Monday, April 20th, 2026 at 3 pm.
