Peacefully passed with family by her side at the Southlake Regional Health Centre on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 at the age of 63. Beloved mother of Eric Van Rythoven and Adrian Van Rythoven. Proud grandmother of Hannah Van Gryffin, Emmett Van Gryffin, and Percy Van Rythoven. Devoted daughter of John and Heather McGrath. Dear sister of Paul McGrath. Will be missed by her aunts Gwen Kavanagh and Carol-Faye Petricko, as well as Uncle John and Iva Joslin. She was a loving aunt of Lucas, Audrey, and Hailey McGrath. Will be missed by many extended family members and dear friends.
Elaine was a beloved member of her community, known for her warm heart, steadfast faith, and entrepreneurial spirit. As the proud owner and operator of Elaine’s Closet for many years, she touched the lives of countless customers with her kindness, eye for fashion, and genuine care. A devoted Christian, Elaine lived her life guided by faith, grace, and compassion. Her love for animals was just as deep. Elaine will be remembered not only for her business and beliefs but for the way she made others feel; welcomed, supported, and loved.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025 from 11 am until the time of service in the chapel at 12 pm. Guests are invited to remain for a reception following the service inside the lower lounge. Interment to occur at the Hillsdale United Church Cemetery on Friday, July 4th, 2025 at 10 am.
