Elizabeth Ann Pamenter, 87, passed peacefully to be with her heavenly father on April 8, 2025 in Barrie, Ontario.
She was born Elizabeth Ann Emrentine Saph in St. Clair, Michigan on November 28, 1937 to Harold Saph and Louise Saph (née Fraser). Elizabeth attended the Saint Mary School and St. Clair High School (Class of 1955) where she was a Drum Major for the school marching band. During her youth, Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her friends, driving her car, riding the St. Clair ferry with her father and listening to Elvis Presley music.
In 1955, she joined the Michigan Bell Telephone Company where she served as an operator. While in St. Clair she met her husband, Frederick Pamenter. They were married in 1965 in St. Clair, Michigan and immigrated to Canada in 1966 where Elizabeth went on to work at the T. Eaton Company Limited.
In 1973 her son, Roderick, was born and Elizabeth thoroughly enjoyed being a mother and teaching her son how to play a variety of sports including tennis, baseball and hockey.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, son and his wife Laurie Woolley, and two grand-children Dalton and Grace. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, brother Henry Saph and sister Eleanor Johnston.
Family and friends were everything to Elizabeth and she believed in the goodness of everyone. Love was Liz’s superpower.

As per her wishes, Elizabeth will be cremated and a private celebration of life will be held this summer in Sarnia, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and The War Amps. Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
