In her 106th year, passed away peacefully at the Grove Park Home in Barrie, ON. She will be missed by her four children, Peter (Victoria, BC), Paul (Kingston, ON), Lynn MacLennan (Minesing, ON) and Heidi (Bradford, ON), her 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Bette was an avid animal lover, dedicating time and energy to the creation of the Barrie Humane Society. She loved to travel, especially to England and Greece. She was a gourmet cook, a gardener and a lover of nature. One of her favourite places was Springwater Park for walking and cross-country skiing. Bette lived a full life, inspiring those around her with her energy, her wit, her determination and her sense of adventure.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Barrie Humane Society, Furry Friends, The Owl Foundation or The Donkey Sanctuary in her memory would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.

Bette’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff and volunteers of Grove Park Home for the care, compassion and kindness given to her for more than ten years. They truly made it her home.
