SIKKEMA SMITH, Femmie “Fran”
Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on January 18, 2024 at the age of 78. Beloved spouse and best friend of Peter Gerald Smith for 45 years. Much-loved special aunt to Peter Hart, Christine Gross, and Celena Hart-Rahman. Honoured stepmother to Kate Venn and Kevin Smith. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Franciska Sikkema, as well as sisters Tina Gross and Jane Wolfe. Survived by her sister Anne Cameron.
Will be sadly missed by many cousins in the Netherlands, long-time friends and colleagues in the Barrie area, and especially by Molly, her devoted border collie.
Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank Angela Hiltz and the staff at Daisy A Day Homecare, as well as the staff and volunteers at RVRHC for their compassionate care of Fran.
