Neil, Gabriel Thomas
It is with unimaginable heartbreak that the family of Gabriel Thomas Neil of Simcoe (formerly Thornton) announce his passing on September 12th at the age of 18. Beloved son of Donna and Justin Neil, adored grandson of Darlene Cossaboom, Cheryl Neil, Dave Neil and Marsha Desjardine, and Helen and Tom Pearson, missed by Godparents Stephanie McDermid Vaz and Stephen Vaz, loved boyfriend of Kayla Lock, extraordinary friend to so many. Gabriel will be forever missed but never forgotten. Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation that will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie. A private funeral service for family and close friends to honour Gabriel’s life will be held the next day on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1 o’clock. A livestream service can be viewed by logging in from home through our live stream service on our website (link will be active 10 mins before the service).
In lieu of flowers, donations to London Health Sciences Foundation - Emergency Medicine, or Jumpstart would be greatly appreciated by the family. Gabriel was a strong advocate for organ donation and as his final act of kindness helped save lives with the help of Trillium Gift of Life. The family has created a campaign in Gabriel’s name and encourage his family and friends to learn more about the importance of organ donation and to register their consent to donate here https://beadonor.ca/gabriel-neil
