It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Garry Greenside, a cherished father, grandfather, and respected local businessman as a co-owner of Barrie Welding & Machine for over 50 years. He passed away peacefully at RVH on September 14, 2026, just shy of his 86th birthday.
Garry was pre-deceased by his loving wife Shirley with whom he is now reunited. Her memory remained close to his heart throughout his remaining years.
Garry will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Craig, daughter-in-law Lisa, granddaughter Taylor and grandson Connor. Dear brother of Doreen, George, and Helen. He will also be deeply missed by extended family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Throughout his life Garry was known for his dedication to his business, his strong work ethic, and the kindness and generosity he showed to those around him.
His legacy will live on through the family he loved, the friendships he treasured, and the many lives he touched throughout the years.
Visitation will be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday October 3, 2026, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Chapel Service will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 2:00pm. Guests are welcome to arrive at 1:30pm. The family invites guests to remain for a reception following the service inside the lower lounge.
