It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Papa, father-in-law, and friend.
He was a devoted family man and a loving father to Jody and father-in-law to Chad. Loving husband to the late Leslie. He was a wonderful Papa to Daphne, Eli, Ellie, and Bryce. Brother to Bonnie, Grace and Jean, and was loved also by Sarah, Debbie and Greg. His family was his greatest joy, and he will always be remembered for his love, strength, and unwavering support.
He was a hardworking and determined man who began his career with the Bank of Nova Scotia before owning Allandale School Transit and Simcoe County Airport Service. He took great pride in his business and his employees, with many of them working alongside him for many years. He always cared deeply for those who depended on him.
He loved farming, tractors, and his time with his beloved pets, Chelsea and Ollie. Above all, he loved his family and created a legacy of kindness, dedication, loyalty and love.
Since losing his wife, Leslie, in 2020, he missed her deeply. We find comfort knowing they are together again.
He will be missed more than words can say and will remain forever in our hearts.
A Visitation will be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday October 2, 2026, from 6-8pm. Donations in memory of George may be made to Empower Simcoe or SPCA Barrie.
