KITSON, George
George Kitson passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on October 27th, 2023 at the age of 79. He will be deeply missed by his family and the many relatives and friends that knew his kindness and generosity.
Predeceased by his loving wife Norma Jean Kitson (Purvis), son Robert Michael Kitson, daughter Jo-Anne Katheline Kitson, and mother Lorraine (Zwicker) Nugent, as well as his sisters Eleanor (Pug) Talbot, and Viola (Kitson) Melanson. George is survived by his son George Andrew Shawn Kitson (Tracey Penner), and grandchildren Jay Penner, Scott Penner, Tashina Potter, Jessica Potter, and Kade
Potter, brothers Michael Nugent, Brian Nugent, Brent Nugent, and sisters Bonnie (Jim) Henderson, Karen (Ross) Tugwell, Heather MacKenzie, as well as many nieces and nephews who thought so much of George. Special nieces Shannon and her family (Matthew and J.D.), Pamela (Bob) and her family (Jennifer and Devyn), Jamie Melanson and his family (Sierra and Cole).
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday, November 11th, 2023 from 10 AM until the time of service in the Chapel at 11 AM. Guests are invited to remain for a reception gathering in the Lounge.
The family is very grateful to the nurses and staff of RVH in Barrie, ON, as well as Dr. Bedard, who has tended to the family’s medical needs for many years.
If desired, donations in George’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and are greatly appreciated by the family.
