It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Hyacinthia Manhertz on Sunday, August 10th, 2025. She passed peacefully in Victoria Village Manor (Windsor House), in Barrie, Ontario.

In her final days, she was surrounded by family and friends. She passed peacefully on Sunday morning with her twin sister, Hazel Forde, her other sister, Shirley Black at her side.

Gloria was born on August 21, 1937, along with her twin sister Hazel Forde, nee Manhertz. Gloria was born and grew up in Jamaica. She enjoyed traveling and visited many destinations before settling in Mississauga, Ontario. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and smile. Gloria’s faith was paramount in her life and her faith guided her beliefs and behaviours. She travelled to many places in the world, highlighted by her trip to Israel with her twin sister.

Funeral services will be held at Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, Ontario on Wednesday, August 20th @ 11:00 am. Interment at the St. Paul’s Cemetery will be at 2:00pm.
