With his three girls by his side, Handy Jin peacefully passed away at the Southlake Regional Health Centre on Friday, November 14th, 2025, at the age of 72 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Lesley. Cherished father of Ashley (Mike), Victoria, and proud grandfather of Noah. Handy was a dear brother of the late Jim (the late Betty), Jack (the late Helen), and brother-in-law to Lori (Jack). Predeceased by his parents, Poy Ark and Chu See. Handy will be deeply missed by extended family and many dear friends.
Handy lived a life full of adventure, creativity, and quiet discipline. He was passionate about speed skating, loved expressing himself through drawing and painting, enjoyed long cycling outings, and found peace and balance in practicing Tai Chi. These interests brought him joy throughout his life and reflected his determined, thoughtful, and artistic spirit. Handy will forever be cherished as a gentle soul, remembered for his kindness and compassion. Handy’s warm heart touched everyone who knew him.
In keeping with Handy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St, Barrie on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, from 1-4 pm. Memorial donations in Handy’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and are greatly appreciated by the family.
