Henriette Hurley (née Desrochers) passed away peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice on January 11, 2026, at the age of 82, surrounded by love.

She was the loving wife of the late Karl Hurley (2019) and beloved mother of Darrell (Pierrette), Nicole Bergeron (Jocelyn), and Charles (Shirley Chang). Henriette was a cherished grandmother to Alissa (Ryan), Jessie (Matt), Kyle, Cameron, Malek, Jayden, and Tanis, and a proud great-grandmother to Phoenix and Maverick.

She is survived by her siblings Gertrude (the late Billy), Robert (Vivian) and Cecile (Richard), and was predeceased by her brother Jacques. Dear sister-in-law of Patricia. Henriette was also predeceased by her parents, Léodor and Laurenza Desrochers.

Henriette will be fondly remembered for her love of cottage life, her passion for painting, and her quiet enjoyment of reading. She found joy in simple moments and leaves behind many treasured memories.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 from 12 pm until the time we celebrate Henriette’s life in the Chapel at 1 pm. Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception luncheon in the Lounge. The family would like to take this opportunity to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff and volunteers at Oak Ridges Hospice and have requested donations to the same in lieu of flowers.
