Kunkel, Hugh Michael
Peacefully on November 6, 2013 in his 79th year. Beloved husband of Anne (nee Murphy) for 56 years. Loving father of James (Alix) of Cary, North Carolina, Debbie Baker (Barry) of Brampton and Chris Kunkel of Edmonton, Alberta. Dear grandfather of Alex Baker (Nikka) of Toronto, Shawn Baker (Stephanie), Sherry Baker, all of Brampton, Valerie Kunkel of Cary, North Carolina and great grandfather of Karli and Jake Baker. Hugh was born in Sudbury December 25, 1934 and at an early age moved to North Bay. He graduated from Scollard Hall College, North Bay and joined Bell Canada. He worked through out Northern Ontario. While in Ft. Francis, he met and married Anne Murphy of Barrie, Ont. They moved on to Hunstville, Sudbury, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto where he retired as Asst. Vice-President of Systems Development with 32 years service. He spent his retirement years golfing, travelling, following advancements in computers and improving his own skills, and spending as much time as possible at the Lake Talon Family cottage. A private cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass and final blessing will be held at St. Mary's Church, Barrie at a later date.
