Hawkins, James William
It is with profound sorrow that the family of James William Hawkins announce his passing on September 14, 2021. Loving husband of Audrey (1928-2021), beloved father of Michael (Marlene), Kerry Lee and Christopher. The greatest papa to Kristy, Cheri Ann, Holly, Shannon, Andrew, Aidan, William, Edward, Richard and James and adored great-grandfather to Luca, Daniel, Hudson, Landon, Scarlett & Everley. Born in Toronto on January 31,1930 one of 3 children born to James& Alice originally of Yorkshire and Tavistock England. Jim was a talented singer, actor & model and performed in many musicals and operettas throughout the Toronto area and across the province. He was the featured male model at the Yorkdale Fashion Shows and enjoyed walking the runway for many years. Retiring to Barrie in 1998 Jim enjoyed a quieter life and along with his wife they volunteered their services at Grove Park Home tending to the beautiful gardens. They attended church services each Sunday at Collier Street United Church and spent quality time with Kennedy and Hawkins family members. Our Dad couldn’t face life without his soul mate, he passed from heart failure but it was truly a broken heart. The one comfort we hold dear is Mum and Dad are reunited and will be together for all eternity. We sincerely thank Dr. Alex Dickson for his compassionate care of our beloved father. The stage is yours once again Dad, sing away and we will see you later. Friends are invited to attend the visitation that will be held on Sunday, September 19,2021 from 12p.m (noon) to 1pm at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30Worsley Street, Barrie.
