Judy, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the age of 77. Beloved Judy of Orillia and Barrie, Ontario.

She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Mary (Bunker) Lahay, and by her son, Ronald George Weaver.

She leaves behind cherished and loving memories in the hearts of her children: Rob (Karen), Daniel (Ghislain), Michaela (Tyrique), Matt (Cathy), and Chris (Sarah). Judy will also be dearly missed by her brothers, whom she treasured deeply: David (Marilyn) Lahay and Tom (Judy) Lahay. She was a devoted grandmother to Nick, Emily, and Tim; Alex, Harry, and Tiberius; Riley, Zach, and Blake; and her great-grandchildren Zachary, Anna, Joy, each of whom she loved with boundless pride and joy. She is also survived by her ex-husband Henry Weaver.

Judy’s life was defined by kindness, compassion, and service to others. As a Developmental Social Worker at the Huronia Regional Centre in Orillia, she supported countless adults with exceptionalities, helping them live lives filled with dignity, joy, and meaning. Later, in Barrie, she shared responsibility for a group home where three adults flourished under her care and guidance. At the same time, she worked as a Hearing Aid Specialist in the Speech and Hearing Department at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, a role she held with dedication for over 20 years until her retirement.

Her family and friends recall the countless ways she quietly gave of herself: delivering food to those in need, driving friends and neighbours to appointments and church, and preparing an endless supply of baked goods she shared generously throughout the years. Her hallmark was selflessness; she lived a life centered not on recognition, but on lifting others up with her time, her talents, and her love.

At Judy’s request, cremation will take place in the coming days. A visitation from 3:00–4:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 4:00 p.m. and reception, will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 79 Ferris Lane, Barrie, Ontario (705-737-1097).

In lieu of flowers, Judy would wish for all who are able to share kind deeds and smiles with as many people as possible. Donations may also be made to Operation Smile Canada one of the charities she valued and supported. Please use the following link to leave a message in the condolence book or to make a donation.
