Unexpectedly passed at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Sunday, September 7th, 2025 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Karen (née Curtis). Loving father of Maegan (Cris) and Carly (Justin). Proud grandfather of Aiden and Patrick. Dear brother of Arnold (Sandy), Todd (Lisa), the late Ross, Jeff and Wayde. Brother-in-law of Judy (Harry), Cindy, Elaine and Mona. Predeceased by his parents Leslie and Patricia. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

Kevin was a true family man. Whether lending a helping hand or organizing the annual Gill Picnic, family was always his top priority. He had a deep love for the Boston Bruins, snowmobiling, boating, and fishing.

Karen, his beloved wife of 47 years, was the love of his life — they were high school sweethearts who built a beautiful life together. Kevin was endlessly proud of his two daughters, Maegan and Carly, and found great joy in being a grandfather to Aiden and Patrick.

He began his working life in construction alongside his father and brothers, later joining Canada Packers before founding his own business, Gillray, which he successfully ran for over 25 years.

Kevin was known for his storytelling, his quick wit, and his infectious laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, September 11th, 2025 from 10 am until the time of service in the Chapel at 11 am. Interment will immediately follow at the Barrie Union Cemetery, 338 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Following the interment, a reception will take place inside the lower lounge of the Funeral Home. For guests that do not wish to attend the cemetery, please make your way directly into the lounge to await the families return. Beverages will be made available during this time.

Donations in Kevin’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and are greatly appreciated by the family. Please click the link below to view the livestreamed service:
