ARMSTRONG, "Jim" Leon James

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11

By the grace of his Lord and Saviour, Jim is now home with his heavenly Father. He passed peacefully with his family by his side at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie on January 29th, 2024, at the age of 69 after a two-year battle of bone cancer.  Beloved husband of Dorothy Armstrong (nee VanDyk) for 43 years. Cherished father of Anneke Naves (Chris), Andrea Bruining (Brad), Katelynn Riggs (Will), and Adam Armstrong.  Proud grandfather of Nathan, MaryBeth, & Jenna Naves, Erica, Bradley, Wesley, & Luke Bruining, Jessica, and Lydia Riggs.  Pre-deceased by his parents Adam and Anne Armstrong.  Dear brother of Laura Armstrong, Henry Armstrong (Janet), Peter Armstrong (Darlene), Carol Armstrong, and Leslie Dubois (Leo).

Visitation will take place at the Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 101 Ardagh Rd, Barrie on Friday, February 2nd, 2024, from 6 – 8 PM, with the funeral service to follow on Saturday, February 3rd at 11 AM.  Guests are invited to remain at the church for a reception luncheon.  Interment will follow in the Spring at Midhurst Union Cemetery.

If desired, donations may be made to the Calvinist Cadet Corps which is a Christian boys mentorship program. Jim served this club for many years as an archery leader, and it was dear to his heart.
