Dr. Margo Anne Kushner, a beacon of laughter and intelligence, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025, in Maryland, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 9, 1955, in Canada, Margo's early years were filled with the warmth of her parents, the late Jack and Mary Hamilton. Her life was a testament to her adventurous spirit, her sharp wit, and her unwavering commitment to the welfare of others.

Margo's journey was marked by her pursuit of knowledge and her desire to make a meaningful difference in the world. She achieved a Doctorate of Social Work, a field where she excelled and became a guiding light for many. Her professional career was distinguished by her dedication to service and her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Margo's zest for life was contagious. She was an avid downhill ski racer, a sport that mirrored her approach to life: fast-paced, exhilarating, and always on the edge of new discoveries. Her love for sailing took her across many horizons, reflecting her deep appreciation for nature's beauty and her love for adventure. Jazz and Rock and Roll music were the soundtracks of her life, often filling her home with vibrant energy and the rhythms that she adored. Margo also enjoyed sharing her love for playing the flute, filling the home with warmth and love.

Those who knew Margo will remember her for her sharp intellect and her remarkable sense of humor. She had an uncanny ability to find mirth in the mundane and could light up the room with her wit. Her laughter was infectious, and her presence was a source of joy for her family, friends, and colleagues.

Margo's legacy is cherished by her devoted husband, and love of her life of over 55 years Dale Kushner, with whom she shared a love that was deep and enduring. She was a proud and loving mother to her daughter, Meredith Kushner, who inherited her mother's intelligence and sense of humor. Her stepsons, Dale Kushner Jr. and Marty Kushner, will miss her guidance and the fun-loving spirit she brought into their lives. Margo was also a beloved sister to her brothers, John and Lance Hamilton, who will hold dear the memories of their shared childhood and the unbreakable bond they formed over the years.

Dr. Margo Anne Kushner lived a life full of purpose and joy. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Yet, the impact of her work and the memories of her vibrant spirit will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends. Margo's journey through life was a remarkable blend of love, laughter, and adventure, and she will be remembered with fondness and admiration by all who were touched by her extraordinary presence.

A Celebration of Life to honor the life of Dr. Margo Kushner will be held at a later date.
