We are saddened to announce the passing of Maria Altherr. Maria was born September 25, 1930 in Ramstein, Germany and passed away on July 18, 2026 in Barrie, Ontario at the age of 95 years. Maria is predeceased by her husband August Altherr (1995). Survived by her daughters Trudy Altherr, Katharina Callaghan, Johanna Altherr, and Mia Spencer.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026 from 11:30 am until the time of service in the chapel at 12 pm. Interment to immediately follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie.
