Passed away peacefully while surrounded by family at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie on January 7th, 2024 at the age of 49.  Loving son of the late Rita and Wayne Foster.  Beloved nephew of “Auntie” Annie McShane.  Cherished cousin and friend of Maggie Fallowfield, Cathy McCutcheon, Trish Torrance, Andi Williamson, David Martin, and each of their families.  Fondly remembered by John McNamara and family in Scotland.

Martin will be sadly missed by a great many colleagues and students whose lives he enriched during his 20+ years as a teacher and coach with the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.  His passion for travel, his love of Scotland, and his cherished Scottish roots were keenly identifiable.  It is challenging for anyone to speak of Martin without some mention of his love for sports – especially his involvement in the Barrie District Celtic Club.  His ingrained sense of loyalty, coupled with his unique sense of humour, will be a loss deeply felt within his extensive circle of friends.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Saturday, January 27th, 2024 from 11:30 AM until the time of service in the Chapel at 1:30 PM.  Guests are invited to remain for a reception gathering in the Lounge.

If desired, donations in Martin’s memory may be made to a charity of choice and are greatly appreciated by the family.
