MILLER, Paul Douglas

Passed away peacefully at Mill Creek Care Centre, in Barrie on December 15, 2023 surrounded by his family at the age of 87.

Beloved husband of Corina for over 61 years.  Loving father of Craig (Marina), Charlene, and Glenn (Tricia).  Proud grandfather of Kristina, Michelle, Madilyn, and Caleb.  Predeceased by his brother John “Jack” (Valerie).

Paul discovered his passion for music at an early age.  He was a naturally gifted musician who developed a recognizable style on the trumpet and was well known for his mellow tone.  While still in high school, he played in the marching band at Western University, on radio broadcasts, and at Carnegie Hall. He led the church band at Scarboro Gospel Temple for over 40 years.  Through his music, he ministered to people in the church and abroad during his travels. Paul was a true mentor to many young musicians, including his own children.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, January 5th, 2024 from 7 – 9 pm and on Saturday, January 6th from 12 pm until the time we celebrate Paul’s life in the Chapel at 1 pm.  Following the service, guests are invited to remain for a reception in the Lounge.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Mill Creek Care Centre or Hiway Pentecostal Church, both located in Barrie, Ontario.
