A Livestream of the Service will be made available here about 10 minutes ahead of the service start time.

Passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his home in Barrie at the age of 64. Beloved husband of the late Verna Mifsud (2023). Loving father of Sarah, Samantha and Liam and cherished grandfather of Sophia, Olivia, Noah, and Ava. He leaves behind his siblings Mary, Danny and Philip and his mother Cecelia. Will be missed by extended family members and dear friends.

He had a great love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisher, passions that reflected his appreciation for nature and patience for life’s quiet moments. He also loved to cook and took pride in sharing meals with those closest to him.

Photography was one of his greatest passions. He worked as a freelance photographer for the Toronto Sun at one point in his life, capturing moments with a keen eye and a genuine love for storytelling through images.

In his final year, Ray was fortunate to travel extensively, visiting friends and family on both the east and west coasts. One of his most cherished experiences was visiting Disneyland with his grandchildren and his child, creating memories that will be treasured forever. He had also been looking forward to future adventures, with plans to travel to Malta and Las Vegas—trips that will now live on in loving remembrance.

Above all, Ray will be remembered for his passions, his love for family, and the meaningful moments he shared with those around him. His memory will continue to live on in the stories, photographs, and hearts of all who loved him.

Visitation will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 from 6:30 – 9pm and Friday, January 9th, 2026 from 12 – 1 pm followed immediately by a service at 1 pm. Interment will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, 208 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Online condolences and memories may be shared via www.steckleygooderham.com
