PHILLIPS, Rhoda
Passed peacefully at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on January 7th, 2022 at the age of 97. Predeceased by her husband George Phillips in 1999. Loving mother of Lorraine Sederquest (the late Hayes), and of the late Wayne Phillips. Cherished grandmother of Kurt, Brett, and Krista Sederquest, and great grandmother of Lucas and Mattea Sederquest. Survived by her older sister Verna Dauncey. Predeceased by her sisters Joan Langford, Islay Wager, and brother Dalton Nelson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, with visitation to be held at the Knox Presbyterian Church, 28 Sparks St., Magnetawan, on Saturday, January 15th, 2022 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. Masks, physical distancing, and capacity limitations are mandatory. A small reception gathering will follow in the church Hall, limited to 25 double vaccinated individuals as per the North Bay / Parry Sound Health Unit. Interment to follow at Spence Cemetery in the Spring.
The family would like to take this opportunity to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Hospice Simcoe for the most genuine compassion extended to Rhoda during the past five months while she was in their care. If desired, donations in Rhoda’s memory may be made to Hospice Simcoe or a charity of choice.
