It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband and father, Richard (Rick) Michael Reimer, at the age of 67. After an almost six month battle with Glioblastoma (terminal brain cancer), Rick passed away in hospice surrounded by his wife and children on December 21.

Rick was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on October 10, 1958. He was the second of three sons born to Arnold and Frances Reimer. After a happy childhood spent on the prairies and then serving in South America as missionaries, the family settled in Toronto, Ontario. Rick had a big, infectious smile and a heart even bigger. With quick wit and a sense of humour, making people laugh came easily to Rick, but it was his kind and caring nature that made everyone around him feel special and loved. Rick was a big hearted and generous man who saw the good in everyone, and exemplified the unconditional love of Jesus to all he knew.

On June 2 1979, Rick married the love of his life, Julie, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage full of love and adventure. Rick was a devoted father and papa, and along with his love for the Lord, Rick's greatest joy in life was his love for his family. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Julie, his children Danielle (Matthew), Jessica (Kristian), Joshua (Ariel) and 5 grandchildren Lincoln, Avery, Benjamin, Oliver, Norah (and another one on the way), his parents Arnold and Frances Reimer, brothers Stephen (Wanda) and David (Sharon), and parents in-law Michael and Edna Johnson and family.

We are comforted knowing Rick is free of pain and suffering, and thankful for the peace that we have knowing that he is with his Father in Heaven. In keeping with Rick's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17, 2026 at Southshore Bible Church in Barrie, 565 Bryne Dr. at 1:00 pm, light luncheon to follow. If desired, donations may be made to The Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or Hospice Simcoe and are greatly appreciated by the family.
