Unexpectedly passed on Sunday, May 12th, 2024 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre at the age of 69. Beloved partner of Patricia Bauchman. Loving father of Travis Sides and stepfather of Branden Bauchman and Robert Bauchman. Proud “Gramps” of Sonny, Felix, Charles, Grace, Isabella and Frankie. Will be missed by his daughter in-laws Amanda (Stanley) and Amanda (SlipperJack) and his mother in-law Cheryl Sutherland. Dear brother of Jack, Larry and Steven Sides. Predeceased by his mother June (née McNabb), stepfather Ken Fagan and father Bernard Sides. Brother of the late Kim and Mark Fagan. Sadly missed by many extended family members and dear friends.
Rod was a highly skilled Industrial Mechanic, Millwright. He enjoyed the people who he worked with and made many good friends. He was Montreal Canadians fan and a Pittsburgh Stealers football fan. He enjoyed golfing and was an excellent teacher of the sport. He had many golf buddies who also enjoyed his company.
In keeping with Rod’s wishes cremation has taken place. Private family arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
