Peacefully passed at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on Sunday, April 12th, 2026 at the age of 92 years. Beloved husband of Rita Reid. Loving stepfather of Rose Mauro, Randy Reid, and Jim Reid, and cherished father of Joanne Knight. Predeceased by his stepdaughter Donna Mattachioni. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Brittany Mauro, Katie Love, Christopher Mauro, Vanya Maura, Ryan Reid, John Reid, Josh Reid, Tyler Reid, Natalie Reid, Nikki Howes (Mitch), Stephanie Knight (John), Taylor Mattachioni and Jamie Mattachioni. He will be deeply missed by his great-grandchildren Alex, Dominic, Zachary, Scarlett, Eloise, Eleanor and Abigail. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him for his dedication to family and the joy he found in spending time with those he loved.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 from 1 pm until the time of service in the Chapel at 2 pm. Guests are invited to remain for a reception following the service inside the lower lounge. In keeping with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
