COURT, Rose Florence

Rose passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord in her 101st year, on August 17. Rose was the wife of the late Douglas Arnold Court (1989) for 45 years. She was sister to the late Ida Wales, the late Stanley Smith and the late Clifford Smith. She will be sorely missed by her children, Douglas Court, (Susanne), and Donna O’Neill, (Michael). She had a close and loving relationship with her four grandchildren and their families; Robert O’Neill (Colleen), and Richard O’Neill (Janice), and Doug Court (Katrina), and Emily Hubbard (Christopher). She found great joy in her great grandchildren, Braden, Logan, Katie, Taylor, and Zoe.

Rose was born in 1923 in Toronto where she lived and raised her family. Rose moved to Barrie in 1980 to be closer to her son and daughter. She joined the Parkview Singers choir and the Joybells (handbell choir).

In her later years, Rose developed an interest in travel and went on many senior tours. When Rose began having health issues in the 2013, she moved to the Woods Park Residential Home where she participated in the programs and activities, and enjoyed the companionship offered.

As Rose’s health became more fragile, she moved into long-term care, also at Woods Park. While in the residential setting and in Long Term Care, the outstanding care and compassion by the Woods Park community enriched Rose’s final years. A huge thank you is extended to all staff for their professional skills, their personal attention, and their friendship towards Rose throughout the years.

At Rose’s request there will be a private family Service. If you wish, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, St. Margaret of Scotland Anglican Church (Barrie), or the charity of your choice in remembrance of Rose.
