Peacefully passed at the Woods Park Care Centre in Barrie on Monday, December 19th, 2022 at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara (née Riley, 2015). Loving father of Dave (Van), Darrin and the late Cheryl (Glenn Harris). Proud grandfather of Robert and Eric.

Stan was a Nova Scotian who had eight brothers and three sisters, six of whom are deceased, as are his parents, Raymond and Sadie Corkum. He will be missed by extended family members and many dear friends who deeply appreciated his ever-present, down-east sense of humour and cheerful and helpful nature.

Stan was employed by the Canadian National Railway for 38 years in Toronto, where he was also a member of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, a boy scout leader and active in minor hockey. He was an involved member of Lions clubs in Rexdale and Barrie.

Stan was an active member of Grace United Church in Barrie for many years, serving on the church board and chairing the worship and stewardship teams. He was editor of both the Grace and Barrie Lions club newsletters.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Friday, January 6th, 2023 from 7-9 pm. Visitation will also be held at the Grace United Church, 350 Grove St .E., Barrie on Saturday, January 7th, 2023 from 11 am until the time of Service at 12 pm.
