Mom passed away suddenly at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on October 16, 2022 at the age of 78.  Beloved wife of the late Paul A. Swain. Loving mother of Tim, Krista and Lisa Swain (Tom Fontaine).  Cherished Gram (or as she was affectionately known to some “Beep” or “G-ma”) of Katie, Brady, Jordy, Hannah, Maddy, Kenzie and Emerson. Caring sister of Bob Watt (late, Stella) and Mary- Lou (Bob) Moulton. Suzanne will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

As many of you are aware, Gram was an avid sports fan—including hockey, baseball and curling, to name a few.  She enthusiastically followed the Raptors, the Jays and the Habs.  However, her favourite players to watch were her grandkids—who laid it all out on the field/rink/courts. Gram loved to sit in the stands and cheer on her athletes or follow along virtually as her children sent updates.  While she wasn’t an athlete, her competitive nature was fuelled by playing cards with her dear friends the Andersons, Carrons and Inskeeps.  In recent years she loved playing online word games with Aunt Mary Lou and Auntie Di, chatting and showing off her skills on the daily wordle. She taught us all early that you play to win and hold your head high in defeat (trash talking welcome).

Her love, strength, positivity and stoic endurance in the face of adversity have been and will always be an inspiration to us all.

Friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, October 21, 2022 from 6pm – 8pm at the Steckley – Gooderham Funeral Chapel, 30 Worsley Street., Barrie. The Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday October 22nd at the same location. Interment to follow at the Midhurst Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the RVH Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be left at www.steckleygooderham.com
