Peacefully passed with family by her side at her home in Innisfil, after a courageous battle against cancer on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the age of 47 years. Beloved spouse of Brian Griffith. Loving daughter of Kenrick and Sonia (née Wiggan) Meikle and Wilbert and Mervis Higgins. Will be missed by her siblings Paula, Garth, Donna, Dwayne and Dean and their spouses. Will be missed by her nieces, nephews, large extended family and many friends.
Tanya worked in the nursing profession and was an emergency room registered nurse where she battled the COVID-19 pandemic on the frontline. She was a true hero to the citizens of Ontario.
Visitation will take place at the Toronto West Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1621 Albion Rd., Etobicoke on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at the Innisvale Cemetery, 7551 5th Sideroad., Innisfil at approximately 1 p.m. Donations in Tanya’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society specified for Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer) and are greatly appreciated by the family.
