Thomas Peter Semple, age 63 passed away on June 29th, 2026 in Barrie, Ontario. Born to Alan Joseph and Edith Doris Semple on March 13th, 1963 in Trenton, Ontario. Younger brother of Ruth Elizabeth Semple. Known by his middle name Peter (or just “Pete”). After attending Ridley College in St. Catharines, Peter went on to have multiple jobs throughout his career, from running a courier business to working as a line cook and teaching English as a second language in Vietnam.

Peter was a lover of life. He enjoyed good food, a good vodka, boardgames, and baseball. He was passionate about history and learning about different cultures. And he encouraged many to continue to learn and be curious about the world. He spent the last years of his life looking after his mother Edith and will be sorely missed. Peter will be remembered for his skill in the kitchen, his vast intellect, and his big heart.

Among those who were part of Peter's life are his children, Robert (Alex), Maeve (Mackenzie), Katherine, and Iain; his granddaughter, Calla-Grace; his mother, Edith; his sister, Ruth and his former wife Rose Hông Dǎng.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Tuesday July 7th, 2026 at the Trinity Anglican Church, 24 Collier St., Barrie. Public visitation will take place from 12 pm until the time of Service at 1 pm. Reception to follow at the Church Hall from 2-3 pm. Interment will take place on Wednesday, July 8th, 2026 at the Pleasantview Cemetery, 2250 RR 20., Fonthill. Although guests are welcome to join, please do not feel obliged that you must.

In light of the expected temperatures, the family is inviting their guests to prioritize comfort over formality when dressing for the events.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Memory of Peter and his battle with the Multiple Sclerosis to MS Canada.
