It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of Ursula Dempsey, who passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born on October 2, 1942, in Dublin, Ireland, Ursula was the cherished daughter of the late Susan and Michael Kearns. She grew up in a large and loving family alongside her nine sisters and one brother. In July of 1966, Ursula and her beloved husband, Sean, immigrated to Canada together, where they built a beautiful life rooted in family, love, and resilience.
Ursula was the devoted and loving wife of Sean Dempsey, with whom she shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Together they created a close-knit family that remained the center of her life.
She was the beloved mother of the late John Dempsey, Fiona Dempsey (the late Wayne Arsenault), Siobhan Dempsey (Maurice Byrne), and Sarah Dempsey (Jonathan Standing). Ursula was a proud and devoted grandmother to Molly Arsenault, Cian Byrne, Aine Byrne, Jude Standing and Finn Standing, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She will also be lovingly remembered by her many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends throughout Ireland, England, and Canada.
