Passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre at the age of 65.
Beloved mother of Lisa (Daymin) Ryan and Dalas. Cherished grandmother of Tristan and Caleb. Dear sister of Diane (Bob), Michael (Mary Jo), Laurie, Anna (Rick), and Shelley. Valerie was predeceased by her siblings Wayne, Billy, Richard, Debbie, Ronnie and Randy. Sister-in-law of Helene, Debbie, Mike and Joanne. Loving daughter of the late Alfred and Marion.
Valerie will be remembered for her warm and social nature, her love of volunteering, and the many friendships she made through her involvement in the community. She especially enjoyed spending time at bingo, sharing a cup of coffee or steeped tea, and visiting with family and friends. Her kindness, sense of humour, and enjoyment of life's simple pleasures will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Valerie's family will cherish the many memories they shared with her and will miss her dearly.
In keeping with Valerie’s wishes, cremation has taken place with interment to follow at the Barrie Union Cemetery, 338 Sunnidale Rd., Barrie. Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie.
