MIFSUD, Verna Ann née Cousins – 59 of Barrie, Ontario passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 30, 2023, at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie after a brief illness. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband of 40 years Raymond Mifsud, 2 daughters Sarah and Samantha, 4 grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia, Noah, and Ava, that were the apple of her eye. She is also survived by her siblings Stanley Cousins, (1/2 siblings) Robin (Torben), Dwayne (Tab), Roxanne, Kendalene (Chris) and Durell Wambolt (Bernadette), as well as her biological father Vernon Wambolt and stepmother Lillian. She also leaves behind a bevy of extra children and young adults that she helped or housed and treated as her extended family. A special mention to her best friend and confidant of 56 years Tina Scorizzi.
Verna is predeceased by her maternal Grandparents Clarence and Ina Cousins née Clarke, who adopted her at birth. Her biological mother Phoebe Wambolt née Cousins, brother Norman Cousins and sister Nadine Wambolt.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 9th 7pm – 9pm and Wednesday, May 10th 2pm – 3pm followed immediately by a service at 3pm at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home and Chapel 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario, L4M 1L4.
