Our beautiful mother passed away peacefully on October 14th in Barrie Ontario in her 91st year. Verna was born in Grand Falls New Brunswick and was predeceased by the love of her life Walter Sokolowski. She was an amazing mother to Galen Sokolowski (Lise) and Lisa Long (Brammer). Her grandchildren Braden (Lauren), Richard, Danielle and Katrina meant the world to her and great grandchild Clara, daughter of Braden and Lauren, was the newest apple of her eye. Verna will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a homemaker extraordinaire with extensive interests including volunteerism, gardening and cooking.

Friends and family will be received at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street, Barrie, Ontario. Visitation in the Chapel will begin between 11am and 12pm on Friday October 22nd with the service to follow. A Reception will then take place at the Keg restaurant, 110 Concert Way Unit 1, Barrie.
