Danic, Walter Steven - Born April 10, 1928, passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 1, 2025, at the age of 97, in Barrie, Ontario. Survived by his loving wife, Mary (Hrbal), to whom he was married for 75 years, and his children: Carol (Wes Smith), Sharon (John Saikaley), David (Nicole Carvell) and Margy. Predeceased by his son, William “Bill” (Sheila Hotchkiss), brother, Jerry Danic (Jane Weir), and great-grandson, Nathan Chaggares. Proud grandfather of 20 and great-grandfather of 27 and counting.
Walter will be remembered and missed by countless friends and extended family as a remarkable man who was dedicated to his family and his faith. He was a gifted teacher and leader who influenced many by his example.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 79 Ferris Lane, Barrie, Ontario, and will be preceded by a visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Reception following the service from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
