Mona Taylor passed away peacefully on the 25th of May 2025 with her daughter Lynda by her side.

She was born on October 19th, 1930 in Dundee Scotland and worked at a local hospital as an ECG technician.

Beloved mother of Lynda (Mark). Devoted grandmother of Callum (Ali), Jemma and Gavin and great grandmother of Scottlyn. Will be missed by extended family members and dear friends.

After retiring she emigrated to Barrie Ontario in 1996 to live with her daughter and son in law and be a part of her grandchildren's daily lives.

Her favorite hobby at the time was to make rag quilts which were pieced and sewn together to enjoyed by family and friends and reading-"Books can take you anywhere you wish to go"

She walked everywhere - " Its good for you and its cheap"

Mona was an active part of the volunteers at RVH and held various positions from 1996 to 2020 when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

The last 5 years have been difficult and challenging at times, but Mum leaves a void in our family that will be difficult to fill. Although she may not have liked to be the center of attention, she deserves to have her years of family love honored, her kindness, integrity and the listening ear she offered to so many will leave a mark on us that will never fade.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vickys Place (VON) and Victoria Village Manor for helping to care for her in her last years as well as the in-home care givers - thank you all for your kindness. Mona will be cremated, and her ashes buried back in Scotland alongside her grandparents, parents and sister. Arrangements entrusted to the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley Street., Barrie. We were lucky to have her as long as we did -

Grief is the price we pay for Love.
