Doiron, Yvette Marte (née Gilbert)

September 28, 1926 – June 20, 2022

Passed peacefully with family by her side on Monday, June 20th, 2022 after a difficult battle with dementia.  Beloved wife of the late Gerard Doiron (2010).  Dear mother of Gary, Shirley (Dave), Patricia (James), Joanne, and Nancy (Mark).  Cherished grandmother of Stepheny, Jennifer, Benjamin, Anna, Matthew, Jeffery, Michael, Johnathon, Donnie, Laura, and great grandmother Lora, John, Noah, Hope, Cali, Edan, Maya, and Levi.  Survived by her sister Madeleine.  Predeceased by her parents Georges and Clara (née Roy) Gilbert, and her siblings Jeannine, Anita, Claire, Carmelle, Ghislaine, Raymond, Nazaire, and Gerard.

Yvette was a lifetime member of the Army Navy Air Force (ANAF) and Ladies Auxiliary, as well as a member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL).  She was a wonderful babysitter and affectionately known as “Nanny” to many children.

Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 from 2-4 P.M. and from 7-9 P.M.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John Vianney Parish, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie on Friday, June 24th, 2022 at 11 A.M.  Following the service, guests are invited to a reception gathering in the Steckley-Gooderham Lounge.  

The family would like to thank the staff of the I.O.O.F. Long Term Care Home for their compassionate and loving care.
